TV ad seeks to recruit Arab-Americans to CIA

DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) - The CIA has a new commercial aimed at recruiting Arab-Americans for careers with the agency.

The ad shows a dinner party with several people. A male voice with a Middle Eastern accent says: "Your nation, your world," as the frame moves outside and shows the party through a window of a high-rise building.

In seconds, the shot zooms to an image of the U.S. from space.

"They're worth protecting."

The commercial ends with the line: "Careers in the CIA."

The CIA plans to debut the commercial on mainstream and ethnic TV stations and Web sites within the next few months.

It and another 30-second spot aimed at Iranian-Americans are part of an ambitious outreach effort to communities the agency deems critical to reducing the threat of terrorism in the U.S.
