VOLCANO ERUPTS AGAIN

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) _ Scientists confirm there's been another

small eruption at Mount St. Helens in Washington state.

A billowing white plume is visible over the rim of the volcano's

crater.

U-S Geological Survey scientist Willie Scott confirms the steam

eruption is under way. He says any ash in the steam clouds will

probably fall in the crater and on the mountain itself.

Earthquakes at the site are continuing -- a sign that the

volcano is active. The alert remains at Level Three, meaning an

eruption is imminent.

Scientists do not expect much impact outside the remote,

unpopulated area around the volcano in southwest Washington.
