Police Find Head Stolen From `Children' Sculpture
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Police say they've recovered a girl's head stolen from a popular sculpture in downtown Brighton.
"The Children" sculpture is on display in the Detroit suburb, about 36 miles west-northwest of Detroit.
An accompanying boy's head was stolen from the same piece in 2006 but was later found.
Sculptor Marie Davis of Livingston County's Hamburg Township says her daughter discovered the head missing Thursday morning.
Davis says her daughter served as inspiration for the sculpture.
Police Chief Tom Wightman tells WHMI-FM officers confronted a teenage suspect, who confessed and told them where to find the head.
Wightman says the head's in good condition and he hopes it's reinstalled by this weekend's Brighton Biennial Event festival.
