Tiny, dilapidated house travels Detroit area
Comments 0 | Recommend 0PLEASANT RIDGE, Mich. (AP) - A tiny house made from parts of abandoned homes is part of an art installation traveling the Detroit area.
The Daily Tribune of Royal Oak reports the house looks like a condemned dollhouse and currently is in front of a home in Pleasant Ridge. It was created by Hamtramck artist Clint Snider.
Snider says he sees beauty and character in Detroit, which has tens of thousands of long-vacant homes and buildings.
Tom Kirby and his wife, Mary McGeehan, plan to host the house for a month, make a few improvements, and then pass it on to the next host for the House 365 project. It will be passed along over the next year.
The house arrived Friday. It earlier was in Hazel Park after TANK Gallery owner Rick Gage helped launch the project.
