Effort to Recall Michigan Governor Fizzles Again
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Michigan corrections officer has again failed in his attempts to start a recall against Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
Paul Piche of Omer submitted two new recall petitions to the Ingham County Election Commission today.
The board unanimously voted against approving each petition, saying the language was too generalized.
The commission had twice before rejected petition language in the case.
Piche said he plans to appeal the decision on one of the petitions.
He also said he would submit new language.
Piche is upset with the Democratic governor's push to release more inmates eligible for parole.
Granholm has argued that Michigan unnecessarily imprisons people longer than most surrounding states, costing the state money it doesn't have.
