Cutting Back Frequent Flier Miles

In another effort to cut costs, United Airlines is reducing frequent flier miles for flights under 500 miles.

The current policy awards a minimum of 500 miles for any flight.

Starting in July, United will award frequent flier miles based on actual miles flown.

Analysts expect other carriers to follow as they continue cutting perks to cope with growing costs.
