Thousands expected at Grand Rapids 'Zombie Walk'
Comments 0 | Recommend 0GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A community event organizer in Grand Rapids is resurrecting his "Zombie Walk" and expects thousands of people to stagger their way through it.
Rob Bliss says about 6,000 people have confirmed through his events page at Facebook.com that they will dress as brain-eating zombies and gather Friday night in downtown's Calder Plaza. From there they will stumble along several streets before returning to the plaza.
That many participants would break the Guinness World Records mark set in August, when 4,026 undead took part in a zombie-themed music festival in Ledbury, England.
Bliss tells The Grand Rapids Press he believes about 6,000 people showed up for Zombie Walk 2008, but the large crowd overwhelmed signature collectors who ended up getting 3,370 names.
