Apple set a goal to sell ten-million iPhones by the end of this year.
The company has announced its online stores in the U.S. and U.K. have since sold out.
When asked about the shortage, an Apple spokesperson declined to comment.
The goal could still be met inspite of the shortage, seeing as at the end of March, 5.4-million had been sold.
