Sen. Stabenow Discusses Benefits of Farm Bill
U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow held a press conference today with Michigan State University officials to discuss how the farm bill will benefit Michigan.
The bill works to bring healthier, American grown food to our children and seniors, to support local crop growers and make investments in alternative energy and conservation programs.
Jeffrey Armstrong of M.S.U. was on hand at today's press conference and is in favor of the bill. "Without a farm bill there's federal funding that gives us the mandate that allows us to seek other funds that would not be there. There would be at M.S.U., but it wouldn't be the same," he says.
The bill passed last Thursday by a veto proof majority, it will now heads to President Bush's desk for approval.
