A group of human service and education officials want state lawmakers to look at tax exemptions as one way to resolve a potential deficit.
They want the state to close tax loopholes and eliminate certain tax breaks to help generate money.
The group supported capping tax incentives for filmmakers, ending the sales tax exemption on pop and candy from vending machines and several other proposals.
Michigan could see a $300,000,000 budget shortfall next year.
