Hanson brother undergoes surgery
Comments 0 | Recommend 0DALLAS (AP) - A member of the pop group Hanson has had surgery in Dallas to remove a blood clot in his lungs.
Isaac Hanson had suffered chest and shoulder pain after a concert Tuesday night at the House of Blues. He was taken to Baylor University Medical Center where he underwent surgery Thursday.
The band's publicist says Hanson was diagnosed with a potentially deadly ailment that happens when a blood clot forms in a deep arm or shoulder vein.
The publicist says Hanson has had similar problems in the past, but not to this extent.
The surgeon is quoted as saying he expects the guitarist to make a full and swift recovery. He and Hanson plan to talk about it with reporters Friday at a Dallas news conference.
The group, Hanson, is best known for its 1997 hit single, "MMMBop."
