Negotiations set to resume in writers' strike
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Striking TV and movie writers are set to get back to the bargaining table with Hollywood studios today.
The Writers Guild of America went on strike three weeks ago over payment for work aired on the Web. Writers are now using the Internet to put pressure on studios, networks, and producers. A number of blogs, video shorts, and MySpace pages have popped up in an effort to reach TV viewers who will soon have to settle for reruns of their favorite prime time shows.
Writers want more money when TV shows and films are sold on Internet sites such as Apple's iTunes.
