Auto and Home Insurance Rally
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Dozens gathering at the state capitol Wednesday afternoon rallying for fair costs for auto and home insurance.
State Senator Martha Scott lead the rally.
She along with other lawmakers believe rates should be set on the value a person's home or their driving record; not by zip code, education level, job title or other factors.
The group says they've introduced a new set of bills to make home and car insurance rates fair.
"In Michigan we pay the 12th highest insurance rates in the country and we really do need insurance reform," says Scott.
On average, Scott says Detroit consumers pay more than $5,000 a year for auto insurance, the highest in the nation.
