Schools Closed due to Flat Bus Tires

May 13, 2009 - 3:55 PM

Classes at Ovid-Elsie Area Schools were canceled Wednesday.

School's out because someone let the air out of the front tires on all 28 of the district's buses overnight.

The tires were not slashed, but employees weren't able to get the tires refilled with air in time to get students to classes.

The Clinton County sheriff's department is investigating.

A posting on the Ovid-Elsie schools Web page Wednesday said school was closed but did not include an explanation.

Classes are expected to resume Thursday.

The school district is based about 35 miles north of Lansing.
