Eaton County Storm Damage

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Bill Albin

Thousands are still without power after a line of storms sweeps across Mid Michigan.

Along with those outages- the storm also caused some destruction to our area.

One of the worst hit areas in mid-Michigan is Eaton County.

People in Charlotte woke Thursday morning to devastation.

Greg Bowerman of T.L.C. Tree Service said, "We've seen a lot of the cornfields just leveled; a lot of downed trees; a lot of trees on houses.  Lines down, just chaos."

It could be a really bad year for Charlotte and the farmers who live nearby.  With ethanol production up and food prices rising, corn growers were expecting a landmark season.  Instead they will be struggling to make ends meet and recover what they can.

Cleanup continues all over Eaton County and Consumers Energy reports there are still about 4,700 people without electricity in that area.
