A woman is dead after an alleged robbery in Eaton County.

Just before ten Monday morning Eaton County sheriff's deputies responded to TJ Maxx on a reported retail fraud in progress. Responding deputies were advised that the suspects had sprayed the security officer with mace and were last seen running toward Circuit City.

A responding deputy located one of the suspects crouched behind a trash compactor behind Goodwill. When she saw the deputy, the suspect ran toward Meijer and was apprehended without incident. The suspect was uncooperative with the arresting deputy who was unable to obtain the identity or location of the other suspect.

At 10:15 a.m., Delta Fire received a call from an employee at Goodwill reporting a woman trapped inside their trash compactor. The woman, who matched the description of the outstanding retail fraud suspect, was extricated from the machine by Delta Fire and transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The deceased was identified at Tyree Monique Tate, age 26, of Harvest Lane, Delta Twp.

The identity of the arrested party is not being released pending arraignment.
