Green Jobs Future for Michigan Employees
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Governor Jennifer Granholm Monday said that Michigan's plan to diversify the state's economy by growing the renewable energy sector to create jobs is the right plan for Michigan.
She says the initiative is part of the state's no worker left behind program.
Governor Granholm says it will accelerate workers' transitioning into green jobs, or jobs that provide products or services in 5 areas: agriculture and natural resource conservation, clean transportation, energy efficiency, pollution or environmental clean-up and renewable energy production.
The governor says green jobs are the wave of the future.
"We dont know whether they'll be able to replace all the manufacturing jobs, but we do know that it will be a piece of the solution thats very significant for people," said Granholm.
