Family Planning
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Michigan Legislators who are working to reduce unintended pregnancies and promote responsible health care decisions, introduced a 15-bill "prevention first" package today.
The package addresses numerous family planning issues, including: affordable birth control, sex education, emergency contraception for victims of rape and sexual assault, insurance coverage for birth control, and teen-pregnancy prevention efforts.
Studies show for every dollar spent on family planning services, four dollars are saved on social services in the first year alone.
In addition to addressing basic health care issues, this plan could save the state millions of dollars.
