Governer Jennifer Granholm has just announced her plans to cut her visit in the Middle East short to head to Washington, D.C. on Thursday to fight for automakers.

Granholm says approval of the loans is critical to the country's economy.

Granholm joined other governors Wednesday by signing a letter to congressional leaders saying automakers will be critical to the development of alternative energy in America.
