Great Lakes Restore and Protect
Comments 0 | Recommend 0State leaders and conservation advocates gathered Wednesday in East Lansing to discuss ways to improve the Great Lakes.
Lieutenant Governor John Cherry and other state leaders held a workshop with conservation clubs to plan the framework for Great Lakes resolution and protection.
Those in attendance said it is vital for us to improve the condition of the Great Lakes.
Director of the Michigan Office of the Great Lakes, Ken Debeaussaert, said, "Really the goal is to have our ducks in a row, so to speak, so that with a new administration in Washington in January we can go to Washington and say here is our plan for the Great Lakes restoration in Michigan and try to seek some additional federal support."
The meeting included talks on invasive species, pollution and other threats to our Great Lakes.
