The Jackson community is celebrating the life of a former Assistant Fire Chief who died Tuesday at 84.

Family members say Harold Swihart was an honest and faithful firefighter for the city of Jackson.

Swihart retired as the Assistant Fire Chief of the Jackson Fire Department and filled numerous positions within the department.
