In Eaton County, a 30-year-old Charlotte woman is recovering after the jet ski she was riding exploded on Friday, throwing her into the water.

Officials say the woman was attempting to start her 1992 Bombardier jet ski along a dock in Columbia Lake when she was blown off the watercraft by the explosion.

She was taken to Allegiance Hospital.

The incident is still under investigation by the Jackson County Marine Division.
