Reform Michigan Now Suit
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Backers of a new proposal are receiving criticism after a complaint claims they violated Michigan campaign finance laws.
The complaint has been filed against supporters of the Reform Michigan Now proposal and claims the idea is a scheme by Democrats to take partisan control of all state government for the next ten years.
The complaint claims backers of Reform Michigan Now violated three campaign finance laws. First, they say the group failed to file a statement of organization with the Michigan Department of State in 2007.
Second, the group concealed the public names of all contributors and all expenditures made by failing to file an annual campaign statement by the due date.
Finally, the group failed to indicate on a power point presentation the name and address of the person paying for the matter.
The complaint requests the Secretary of State investigate the violations and assess appropriate penalties for violations.
