Movies in Michigan

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

New tax incentives for movie makers approved by lawmakers last year are luring some big names to Mid-Michigan.

Filming began Wednesday in Jackson for the psychological thriller "Stone" which stars Robert Deniro and Edward Norton.

Deniro is a correctional officer seduced by the wife of a convicted arsonist played by Norton.

A spokesperson for the department of corrections says the movie is being shot the Jackson Correctional Facility, which closed in 2007.

The state will be reimbursed for use of the prison and for time spent by state employees helping the crew.
