Mega Millions Winner Claims Prize

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

With our struggling economy anyone would be lucky to win some extra cash.

For Chris Crane and his wife Tina, that luck is now a reality.

They're the big winners of the Oct. 3 Mega Millions Jackpot worth 42 million dollars.

The couple claimed their prize in Lansing today.

Mega Millions Lottery winner Chris Crane said, "I logged on to the Web site, and I looked on there and I seen the store down there at the bottom. I said no way and then I started looking at the numbers. I was like, no way, then I looked at 'em again and I was like OK, who's the practical joker around here."

They opted for the 26-year annuity and on Friday received their first installment of more than one million dollars.

While the current state of the market might be a reason to select the annuity option, rather than the lump sum option, Crane said the economy was not the driving motivation for his decision.
