Public defense officials getting to work on reforming our system in the Capitol City Thursday.
The Michigan public defense task force held it's second annual statewide conference Thursday in Lansing, examining failures and possibilities for reform in our state.
"Taxpayers are paying for a system thats broken, individuals constitutional right to council is being compromised and were finding that there are wrongful convictions." several workshops also held through out the day discussed juvenile defense and the impact a failing public defense system can have on a community,"said Director of Michigan Campign for Justice, Laura Sager.
