Grand Rapids Officer Injured

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A Grand Rapids police officer was hit by a suspect's vehicle during a traffic stop.

Police say the driver was being stopped late Thursday when he pulled away, turned around in a driveway and drove quickly at the officer.

Police say the officer fired two shots at the vehicle before being struck. The suspect then drove away.

The officer was treated at a hospital for leg and head injuries before being released.
