The road expansion on Northrup St. near Cedar is so controversial it is pitting neighbor against neighbor, residents against the city, and even households are at odds with each other.
Neighbors we spoke with say they are concerned about how close the road will be to their homes. While other say they are happy sidewalks will be added.
The construction has been going on for about two weeks and according to the city's Public Service Director, Chad Gamble, when it is done Northrup St. will look very different, expanding to 30 or more feet.
He says this work is long overdue and is needed to bring it up to legal standards.
The word is scheduled to end in November and ABC 3 is told it is too late to change the plan now.
