New Distillery Law
Comments 0 | Recommend 0State distilleries can now sell their brews on site thanks to a new law.
In the past, distillers could only sell their products through a middleman. Now that they can sell the alcohol themselves, they will make more money which in turn means they will be able to try different products and offer more varieties.
State representatives say the new bill could also bring jobs. Barb Byrum, the 67th District State Representative, said, "The Michigan Economic Development Corporation estimates that this is going to create $414-million in economic activity. Also, MEDC estimates that this is going to create 1,400 new jobs."
Distillers say the new law could also help bring others to our state, in turn helping Michigan's struggling economy.
