Walmart stores presented a check Wednesday for $10,000 to the First Tee of mid-Michigan, non-profit organization who says they strive to positively impact children through the game of golf.

We were at Wednesday's event where those from First Tee say their mission is to provide education programs and promote character development.

"We wanted to give back to the community and we recognized that this was an organization that could give back immediately to kids and help them with their education, teach them life values and teach them to be leaders in their community," said Nick Infante, Director of Public Affairs for Walmart Stores, Inc.

The organzation says the money will help children gain confidence, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
