Red Sox 6 Tigers 3

DETROIT (AP) - Mike Lowell, Kevin Youkilis (YOO'-kih-lihs) and David Ortiz homered and the Boston Red Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 6-3.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (DYS'-kay MAHT'-soo-zah-kah) was wild but got the win to go to 5-and-0. He won despite walking a career-worst eight batters in five innings. That tied the major league high for walks this season. But he didn't allow a hit until Curtis Granderson's two-out RBI single in the fourth.

The Red Sox walked 10 batters. Matsuzaka gave up one run and two hits with one strikeout, throwing 109 pitches.

Tigers starter Jeremy Bonderman allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings. He's 2-and-3 with the loss.
